2012: Less is More

I ran my first full marathon at Standard Chartered KL Marathon in 2010. It was a memorable and painful first experience for me. I suffered cramping at KM39 and was hobbling in the last 3km towards the finishing line.

In 2011, I ran 8 full marathons (HK,London,Spore's Sundown,Laguna Phuket,KL,Gold Coast, Penang and Singapore). In addition to that, I ran the 50km Duo in Spore's TNF.

It was a bit mad really, joining all the runs in a year. By the end of the year, I was exhausted and actually threw in the towel in the middle of Great Singapore Walkathon....oppss...I meant.. Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore. It turned out to be my worst timing in full marathon.

For 2012, I decided to do less and achieve more. I signed up for 39th BMW Berlin Marathon which will take place on 30th September 2012. Hence, I am training and saving up hard for this trip. I am planning to travel in Europe as well after the marathon. But of course, I am running Standard Chartered KL Marathon again. It could be a good ground to check my performance leading up to Berlin.

In addition, I am planning to contribute more into local running community. I have pledged my commitment to Rainer Biemans, the organizer of SCKLM, as a 5hour marathon pacer at the event. I am planning to continue to organize the running clinic/support for the weekly LSD under the Marathon shop. I would love to volunteer and help out in upcoming local running events.

I am still waiting for response from Perbadanan Putrajaya for my 'no frills, low key' event, Putrajaya New Moon Challenge. I have decided to organize this event again after the success of Putrajaya Twilight Challenge....

So, that's what I meant by 'less is more'. Less on competitive running but gives more to the running community.

Feel free to contact me if you need any help on the running matters, I will definitely try my best to lend a hand....
